I was cross questioning the plaintiff the other day in the court. - TopicsExpress

I was cross questioning the plaintiff the other day in the court. Suddenly the presiding officer (ADJ) deferred the cross examination without any reasons. I objected to the same saying I want to complete the cross examination of the plaintiff today itself since he was on a difficult wicket. But he overruled. So far as I know there are high court rules which provide that cross examination should be finished on a single day without breaks. It was only 11.30 or so when the cross was deferred. There was no request from the other counsel or the person who was being cross examined. There were no more people to give evidence we were the last in the list.
