I was curious about my family legends about our American Indian connections. Below is American Indian connections from my Ingle ancestors. There are more American Indian legends from two other lines. Still looking for a Melungeon connection that is concrete. I noticed that Melungeons claim Indian and African ancestry also. My family legends mentions an African line also. My dads second cousin took a DNA test. He descends from John Rosenbaum of Wythe County, VA whose father was an American Indian and mother was a Rosenbaum of German descent. This second cousins Y-DNA line should be American Indian. Curious to see what it really ends up showing? Noticed that the more I learn/research, the more connections I am making. Meaning, I am not finding a Melungeon connection, but I am gaining a fuller understanding of my roots. The eldest member of my family so far shows the following: 49% British Illse 31% Scandinavia 9% Southern Europe 5% North Africa 4% Asia Minor 1% South-Central Africa Three people in the family show: 1% Native American (My nephew who tested with Family Tree)
