I was discharged from Duke today to return home to WV! The doctors - TopicsExpress

I was discharged from Duke today to return home to WV! The doctors feel that I am stable enough to be at home. However, I must take it extremely easy. Before I left Duke today, I was able to meet with all of the transplant team. They were able to get every single test and evaluation/interview completed while I was there. I should be listed on the transplant list in the coming weeks. The doctors anticipate a donor heart being available for me in 4 to 8 months, but honestly, the call could come anytime and I must always be prepared to go to Duke for when the call comes. I am very encouraged that they are trying to completely avoid the LVAD pump and go straight to a transplant. I have a complete peace with transferring my care and I already love my doctors. Today I am thankful that the Lord has guided us through every process thus far. My parents have been/continue to be phenomenal caretakers, even with the most personal of tasks for which I need assistance. My husband has been so strong in continuing to provide for our home and even working overtime and extra days to help supplement our income since Im no longer working. My Mamaw has been an invaluable help to me by cleaning my home (I am no longer able to do this) and taking care of me while my parents are working. To everyone else reading this message: friends and family, neighbors, co-workers, and strangers alike--thank you for your financial help, prayers, messages, and concern. God is going to continue to use this situation for His glory! Soon, everyone will know the meaning of the phrase that we serve an ON TIME GOD!
