I was driving the other day of the actions by Russia and ISIS and how they both feel that this is the time to move forward. And why now? IMO we are so off track with where we are and where were headed. Time changes all. Power drifts from country to country over the years. Thats expected. And today we find ourselves not the most powerful country due to the weakening of our military and our complacency. The world knows this. More specifically Russia and now ISIS. What is absent is strong leadership. And its not the Left or Right. It seems to be all our govs. Local and Federal. Neither controlling parties are showing any resilience, forward thinking, resolution, ...nothing. Seemingly afraid to do anything but ride the wave which is also reflected in our society. The laziness. Waiting for, expecting and demanding handouts. This is where we fail our next generations. What made us what we were, The American Way, is gone. While we flounder some are making their move. The players are stepping up. Russia has been investing and increasing their military. A recent reminder from Putin was I want to remind you that Russia is one of the most powerful nuclear nations, the President said. This is a reality, not just words. He also said they have been strengthening our nuclear deterrence forces and our armed forces, making them more efficient and modernized while we lessen ours. In June ISIS stole $425 million from Mosul’s central bank and became the ‘world’s richest terrorist group’. They continue to bring in $1mil a day from oil sales as well. Apparently they are looking at our border with Mexico for entry to the US. Makes sense. If 500,000 immigrants can enter w/o much resistance why not anyone else? Whats frustrating, outside of the US gov doing very little to address our place in this world and take needed steps to safeguard us, is us. As long as we have TV at night and go through McDees were cool with everything. Im truly doubting our current course will change. I thought people would rebel in opposition to what we have become and our vulnerabilities but we too remain blindly and comfortably complacent.
