I was ending a bit of a tough day today on the campaign trail when I walked into my house about 30 minutes ago. My 10-year-old daughter must have overheard me telling my wife about it and, as I was cleaning up the kitchen in the half-lit room, I noticed her behind me. She went to her room, after hearing our conversation, and brought down her saved allowance money and wanted me to have it for the campaign. Of course I told her to please keep the money she had worked for but I was deeply touched at her empathy. Thank God for these little moments, there is no day bad enough that cannot be rescued by the loving gestures of your children. -Dan
