I was enjoying some antique shopping today with my BFF and even seeing pieces not even done by me I can completely appreciate other peoples efforts in painting furniture. Custom furniture isnt as fast as going to Ikea picking a piece out and taking a piece home with you the same day. There are many, many lost hours in driving from place to place shopping for the pieces you will paint and some days even go home empty handed, hours of sanding, priming, picking out the paint or mixing it up, adding any extra detailing to the piece to make it more unique, then theres the protective coats, and then hardware. If people who painted custom furniture priced furniture based on the time spent on each piece start to finish the prices would be in the thousands and go up. Thankfully most people that refinish or paint furniture do it for the love of transforming a piece, taking something someone else considers outdated or tacky and turning it into a beautiful piece of furniture no one wants to pass up and my favorite seeing the look on someones face when they come to pick up a piece they brought to you to paint or bought from you, nothing compares to the excitement and delight in someones voice when they are thanking you for making them fall in love with a piece of furniture and helping making their house, their home. I do just want to take the time to Thank each and ever person that has purchased a piece from me, I appreciate you choosing me over the big brand stores and supporting my efforts to help support my family by doing something I love and for understanding that custom takes longer but is well worth it and will last longer than any cookie cutter piece of furniture will bought at a store.
