I was fined for doing 160 kmh in my old Landrover Defender. My Defender struggles to do 100 kmh. I learned that the police must have their speed detection devices calibrated and tested by one of two authorised bodies, one of which is the CSRIO. The police in my case provided their own certification claiming that they had calibrated the equipment. When I attended court it also came to light that the audio component of the speed testing equipment was dysfunctional, therefore my discussion/protest with the officer who claimed I was doing 160 in a vehicle that could only do 100, could not be heard. To my understanding, if one part of the equipment wasnt working, how can the rest of it be trusted to be working correctly, and also it pointed to them covering up their crime. So I duly brought this to these pertinent facts to the attention of the bogus magistrate for her perusal. She realise I was correct and took a recess. When she came back she pulled a rabbit out of the called judicial discretion, this allowed her to overlook any legal facts and find me guilty. How could I possibly win?
