I was flipping channels the other night and saw one of those tv shows where there was this hidden camera. The people were made to look ridiculous. The more they made fun of this unsuspecting person the more they pushed the concept that people are stupid, real losers. When you think about it, our view of people determines how we treat them. There was this one time where Jesus entered Jericho and this guy named Zacchaeus climbed a tree in order to catch a glimpse of Jesus. The fellow was a tax collector; others saw him as a sellout to the Romans. They looked at him as a sinner. They wanted nothing to do with him. But Jesus reached out to him and even went home with him. Luke 19:7 says, All the people saw this and began to mutter, He has gone to be the guest of a sinner. Yet, when Zacchaeus had a deep change of heart (v. 8), Jesus told him, Today salvation has come to this house . . . for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost (vv. 9-10). We need to be very careful how we view others. You know, they are viewing us too. We can be sure of one thing; Jesus doesnt see us as losers. Jesus sees only lost people He loves. When we look at others, who do we see? Follow Jesus.
