I was flipping the tv channels and on bindass channel that hindi song ek pal ka jeena..phir toh hai jaana from kaho na pyar hai movie was going on. That song reminded me of a dog back in west bengal whose name was Hrithik Roshan. It had a very long facial structure with a stark brown eyes and a pointed chin, just like the very facial features of the bollywood star Hrithik Roshan..hence, its name was Hrithik too. Besides, that dogs hind leg was broken in an accident..therefore, it had to limp to move around. Whenever I used to come across that dog in my locality, at the very sight of me, it would come limping towards me in a slow motion causing its broken leg move to and fro exactly similar to that signature hand moves of Hrithik Roshan as shown in ek pal ka jeena song. During the time when bird flu hit our place, that dog probably ate a bird flu infected chicken and it fell very sick. I did try to feed that dog many times but it would not eat due to illness. It completely stopped moving around and I never saw it doing that hrithik hand moves ever again. One day, as I was sitting outside my house, that hrithik doggy came near me and kept its head on my lap. I noticed, it had turned so thin and pale that it didnt look like hrithik anymore, but kunal kapoor of rang de basanti movie. The sick doggy was staring at me with its eyes full of tears and was breathing very difficultly. May be it was suffering on its last stage then. That was the moment I realized for the first time in my life, that though these animals cant speak to us humans in our very language, but they do know the way of seeking help from us in their need. It was really a very heart touching scene when that dog died before my eyes. I regret, I should have helped it before it was too late. Still today, I feel myself guilty at times when I get a glimpse of it in the flashbacks. Sigh!
