I was given the number 9, so I am supposed to tell nine things - TopicsExpress

I was given the number 9, so I am supposed to tell nine things about myself. 1. My favorite color is green. And usually, if I’m not wearing green, I’m wearing black. 2. I have a very strong aversion to talking on the phone. I would go so far as to say I have a phone phobia. If I have ever talked with you on the phone, feel honored. It is something I am very uncomfortable with…even with close friends. 3. I love airplanes…and pretty much anything dealing with aviation or space exploration, and I have for as far back as I can remember. I used to fly, but it was just too expensive to keep doing. Most of my flying time has been logged in the Piper Warrior, but I have also flown Cessna 150s, a Cessna 172, and a Grumman Tiger. 4. I love books and language...and languages. I have literally thousands of books, including ones in foreign languages (mostly Spanish, French, and German). And when I grow up, I want to be a writer! 5. While I now direct most of my artistic energies into my paper mâché, I used to draw a lot, primarily cartoons. In my very early 20s, I bought comic books to practice drawing characters…everything from Marvel and DC superheroes to Disney to Hanna-Barbera and just about anything else. It was my dream to work in an animation studio (like Disney). I rarely ever draw anymore. 6. I am a United States Marine! (Once a Marine, always a Marine.) But…I thought about joining the air force. A friend of mine and I were disgusted with high school and decided to drop out and join the air force, until we talked with the recruiter who gave us the startling information that…we had to finish school first. 7. I still love to watch cartoons…but mostly the old ones. 8. I used to be an avid stamp collector and have a considerable collection stashed away in the dark corner of a closet. My favorite countries to collect were Ireland and Liechtenstein, and among my favorite topicals were aviation, birds, ships, automobiles (especially antique cars), and fairy tales & folk lore on stamps. 9. I am still a child at heart. I look at the world with wonder and fascination and am often thrilled by the simplest things. I love to play tag with 10 year olds (even if the grownups look at me funny). I hope I never become the kind of grownup that thinks a good game of tag or running and jumping and playing on the monkey bars is somehow “beneath me”. Oh, by the way... YOURE IT!!!
