I was going through a folder of all my digital pics from 2014 and sitting here reflecting on the year. I feel as though my feet barely touched the ground this year and I the same time I was constantly running, running, running. I loved this year and all of the surprises it brought. Watching my baby grow into a toddler, and my little boy graduate kindergarten, lose his first teeth and excel in soccer. Although our work schedules make our life hectic, family time is more focused, and the RARE moments we spend as a couple even more treasured. It was nice to recharge for the last few days and spend some time thinking and talking without interruptions with Brent Lewis. I am hoping to be more present and in the moment with my family for 2015 and practice patience when my children throw their food on the floor or whine about things...as kids do. I WILL TRY. As for myself, I suppose the biggest surprise came in the form of an unexpected transformation. When looking back at my new years blog from last year, one of my goals was to fulfill a lifelong wish to own a mermaid tail and to learn to swim as one. It was just a small personal goal that seemed ridiculous to almost everyone I mentioned it to. I didnt care....it meant a lot to me. I had no idea how much that dream would become a reality....and the impact it would have on my life and others. It may still seem silly to many, but he joy it has given me and allowed me to share with children has been a real bright spot in my year. It has also opened my world up to many people who I share interests with that I may never have crossed paths with otherwise. I look forward to growing my skills in swimming and poise underwater with my new Merbella tail and my goal for 2015 is to swim in the open ocean with whale sharks in the mermaid portfolio summer workshop. Many people discount the value of Facebook and the friendships forged through it. I am so thankful for people I have met on here and become close to...even if I dont see them often or NEVER see them. Know that I think of you and look forward to hearing about what is happening in your life. And for those friends who have experienced pain in 2014, both physical and emotional....my resolution is to be more present for you in 2015. Because while social media is wonderful, sometimes there is no substitute for human interaction. I wish I could sit down with each of you for a cup of coffee in the new year. Heres to mended fences and burned bridges of 2014. May they light the way into 2015. Thankfulness is the word of the year....thankful for health, love, family, my business, my friends, my church and my life. Here are a few of my favorite pics of the last year. Wishing each of you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
