I was going to put this on my blog, but thought it is more - TopicsExpress

I was going to put this on my blog, but thought it is more important for people here that truly know me to comment. I agree with the Ferguson Grand jury that no charges should be brought against Officer Darren Wilson in the death of Michael Brown. When I wrote this yesterday I was called a RACIST! I hope those here who really know me will tell the world I am not a racist. In fact my husband and I have had people make racial slurs against us because he is Puerto Rican. My husband and I disagreed with the Trayvon Martin verdict and many who know us were surprised because Jason is Hispanic and Zimmerman was Hispanic. It was assumed that all Hispanics supported George Zimmerman. NOT TRUE! Zimmerman was not a police officer and Trayvon committed no crime. To assume that anyone of the same race will back up actions that are wrong when committed against people of a certain race, is assuming that we have decided in this country that race dictates laws. That a Black suspect now has to be treated differently than a white suspect. That a White police officer may need to allow a Black suspect to get away or else that policeman will be the next Darren Wilson. People scream and riot saying Black men are being discriminated against. We see the pictures of Michael Brown in his high school graduation gown and smiling all sweet like everyones favorite son. That is not the person Darren Wilson encountered that fateful day. He encountered a suspect in a robbery who refused to stop and cooperate with law enforcement. To Michael Browns parents, he will always be their precious boy and my heart breaks for them. Officer Wilson saw a different Michael Brown the day he shot him. One day maybe, his parents will accept that their son made a fatal mistake on that August day. Their son made a choice and the police officer who was doing his job made a choice. Darren Wilson chose to live. Michael Brown chose to attack a police officer with a loaded weapon. Please dont call me a racist for agreeing with this verdict. If I am ever in a position where I feel my life is at risk, I am not going to look at the Color, Race, Religion, gender or age of the person threatening me. I WILL FIRE AND ASK QUESTIONS LATER!
