I was going to talk about Sokhi, the special agent from Nyati - TopicsExpress

I was going to talk about Sokhi, the special agent from Nyati house who came to arrest me with six other special Branch police officers. He had come to get me in a Volvo car with private number plates. To reiterate clearly, Sokhi is not the guy you would want to be your friend or your sisters boyfriend. He was ruthless, mysterious, and no nonsense special branch Indian Kenyan police inspector. Assigned to CID and special branch, he was the eye and ears of both president Jomo Kenyatta And president Daniel Arap Moi. He never ventured in the streets of Nairobi. No ordinary Kenyan ever heard of this man who graduated from Aga khan high school in Westlands, Nairobi. He wore dark- sunglasses that intimidated so many of his junior special Branch officers at both Nyati and Nyayo house. When given orders to eliminate Kenyatta and Mois opponents, he made sure that they get the message. He clearly meant business when it came to torture and his job was done swiftly and precisely. Sokhi was the one who was assigned to finish Josiah Mwangi Kariuki, (my hero) and others who mysteriously disappeared in the streets of Nairobi without a tress. I guess you might think of Robert Ouko, the beloved son of Luoland as one of those who disappeared in thin air. This guy Sokhi hated university of Nairobi Students. Titus Adungosi, a design student and SONU leader, once told me that his life was in danger because of Sokhi. So, when Sokhi came after me, I knew what it meant to be in his custody. It was like I am not going to be taking tea with bread of butter every morning. I was right. I did not drink tea the whole five years I spend in detention at the notorious Kamiti maximum Prison. It makes no mechanical sense to run from Sokhi. I tried not to com home after I was tipped off that Sokhi was looking for me. Every night I went to a friend house in different slums of Nairobi for fear he will catch up with me. I was wrong. Every once and a while I went to hide at the home of Elizabeth Mkoma but my mind was restless. There is no terrible thing than to know that Sokhi is looking for you. II vividly recall when I went to meet friend at New Stanley hotel. I was sitting there to get messages from other members of my group.
