I was gonna wait to post this in the morning but I gotta get it - TopicsExpress

I was gonna wait to post this in the morning but I gotta get it out. Everyone knows Rom 8:28. It may be one of the most quoted scriptures in the Bible. Heck I say it to myself every time I get stuck, scratched or slapped. But what if we back up a few verses to 26. It says ...we do not know what we ought to pray for.... What does that mean? After all, often it is simply the answers to our prayers that cause many of the difficulties in the Christian life. We pray for patience, and our father sends demanding people our way to test us to the limit. We pray for of submissive spirit, and God sends suffering again for we learn to be obedient in the same way Christ did. We pray for God to increase our faith, then our money seems to take wings and fly away, or our children become critically ill, or some other new trial comes upon us, requiring more faith than we have ever experienced before. Ive prayed for a Christlike humility and then 20 min later been asked to do some lowly task and not feel Christlike at all. Ive prayed for gentleness and later that day snap at someone. Ever prayed for the love of others only to find that one person who really got on your nerves? Me too. Ive found though, friends, the way to peace is to accept every circumstance and every trial as being straight from the hand of our loving father. And that those circumstances are being lovingly and divinely appointed. Just something to think about. Thanks for reading.
