I was having a conversation with Rene Perez Liciaga and we were speaking about the chronicles how Pane wasnt familiar with the ethnology as he only understood a bit of one dialect from the island. Las Casas also comments in his history commenting (Chapter CXX) the Spaniards learned no more words for their languages than give the bread here, Go to the mines, Take out the Gold (See Arroms Antiquities): Pane writes out of negligence he wasnt sure what was first or last (Chapter VII). Pane writes he was having an difficulty understanding their structure when they were reciting their oral history to him (Chapter V), and that he could not document them well (Chapter VI). Pane was only familiar with Macorix (Chapter XXV) and was not understood throughout the Island and was ordered by Columbus to go live with Cacike Guarionex, because according to Pane his language was understood throughout the land. Behike Luis Ramos Bayamanakoel comments in video which I have not posted yet that Possibly Pane had assistance by an Taino ancestor. As there was no way he could of done the work to document a peoples oral history all by him self. He suggested that possibly one of our Taino ancestors assisted in documenting and that Pane credited himself by placing his signature in the report sent to Columbus. To make note the Spanish were not on the Island long enough to fully comprehend the language nor they had a interest in fully perusing. Rafael Garcia Bido work on documenting Taino words that are still being used by the people in the Compos of Kiskeya is a small expression of this revelation. These comments in my opinion deserves consideration and further study.
