I was having a craptastic day, and ended up at the Tav to dance it out by the jukebox, but someone else had bought the evenings soundtrack through to stool stacking time, and I wore the displeasure on my face, as I do. Cat swaggled over to me, and lovingly, asked me, WTF is wrong with you?? I laughed, and told her Id been, praying to Doris to get me through this Day. Her whole face rocked back with gleeful surprise, and she said, I listen to Doris Day every night after work! I couldnt believe that was true, and she saw it on my face, so I tried to test her by saying, matter-of-factly, Well, EVERYBODY loves a lover... She got visibly excited and bent a little as she said, THATS THE SOONNG!! She shook off the girlishness & put her Tavern face back on and said, NO. Come on. Come with me. She quickly turned and marched out the back door and around the corner to her car, where she told me to, JUST GET IN. She immediately turned on this song, at full volume, and we sang along to every word and danced a jolly jig like giddy little girls. And then we got out of the car and went back inside, and she went back to work. Cat gave me one of my favorite memories of Baltimore, & Im glad to remember her with one of my favorite songs. RIP
