I was here with Ariella Riapos and Jennifer Riapos. And unfortunately some people did show up. It disgusts me that there was an off duty cop on the other side with a hoodie that read, I Can Breathe. The few people there were sad, ignorant people who had no comeback when we screamed that Eric Garner died in an illegal choke hold. Scream the facts. Thats what gets through. Because when people try and support the wrongful deaths of black lives at the hands of police officers, they cant deny the truth. And heres a disclaimer for anyone who thinks we are all cop haters. When I was little I wanted to be a cop. I wanted to protect and serve the people. Cops who follow that creed are who I respect. But more often than not those arent the cops we face here in the city and obviously other cities in America. Some cops are amazing fathers and mothers. Some cops are ex marines and soldiers. But some are murderers. I dont hate police. I hate murders who use their badges to hide against their crimes.
