I was hoping to get through the day without people knowing that my Mom was delivering a baby boy 67 years ago today.......but it didnt work any more than old Doctor Freeman Robbins hoping that my Mom could make it through the day without going into labor back there in 1947. He was a graduate of Rice University, and on that day (November 29, 1947) Rice was hosting Baylor University and he had tickets for the 3:00 PM kickoff. As luck would have it, I was born at 3:10 PM and he ended-up missing the bulk of the game. Im not saying he was upset that he missed the game, but he did remind me of how I caused him to miss a great SW Conference football game every time I went to see him.....and that was up until I was in my early 20s..... His team beat Baylor on that day 34-6, and I suppose the doctor bill had an added fee for a couple of game tickets. :-) I do appreciate the birthday wishes today and am thankful for my friends and family and the opportunity to connect with each via FB. May God bless each of you! Much of my day was spent on the hiking trail at Huntsville State Park. I simply took my time on my 10+ mile journey.....frequently stopping to watch the squirrels, birds, ants, and other animals.......taking note of and being thankful for the beautiful foliage......took dozens of photographs.....stopping often to think and meditate......even did a little singing when I knew I was miles from others :-)........Then, I met up with my HoneyBun and had my favorite meal......BBQ at Kevin Mckenzies in Huntsville. Now, how could a day get any better than that!!! I am a blessed man! Thanks again for being my friend!!!!
