I was in New Orleans. I stayed at the holiday inn which was connected physically to the civic center where we had an International assembly in 1978. I stayed for a little over 2 weeks. With my family, my cousins and aunt & uncle and my grandmother Elizabeth. We went to a five day assembly, and visited the French quarters where people sit outside on these quaint little white tables(french origin that I am, I like sitting outside too.) and then, we went to the notorious street called Bourbon street which started out as a stroll and ended up to be a long street full of brothels and strip joints. (what were my parents thinking!)..i was 16 years old then..I drank alot of tab soda and lost alot of weight back then. We got to visit a german restaurant for their german pot. salad & knockwurst. And were entertained by the von trap family singers (not the real mcCoy of course). We swam in the rooftop swimming pool. and inside the hotel was a restaurant where my uncle saw Omar Sharee who is an old time actor (now deceased) who played in Dr. Zhivago. We went on a horse and buggy ride one night and ate seafood at a restaurant (almost every night) as Louisiana is located near the water. I ate shrimp like it was going out of style. ... It was a memorable vacation!
