I was in New York City today to attend several events to celebrate and commemorate the extraordinary life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a life dedicated to the fight for a more just and equal society. As Dr. King said, “Let us stand with a greater determination. And let us move on in these powerful days, these days of challenge to make America what it ought to be. We have an opportunity to make America a better nation.” Those words inspire me every day as I strive to give voice to the voiceless and fight for those who cant fight for themselves in Washington.
