I was in a pub in Bath, sort of passing through. Curiously, they have a stall selling Latin CDs. The guy behind the stall puts on a Bachata track that I’ve been desperate to get my hands on for well over a year. I can’t believe my luck. I just pointed at the CD player in a dramatic fashion, as if to say mine. He puts the CD in a bag. I say that I’ve been looking for the track for ages and can’t believe I’ve finally got my hands on it. Then I realise that was a bit stupid, as we’ve not talked about the price. He goes £19.98 and says something about import duty. I know he’s just added £5 but I think to myself it could have been worse and I would have paid more. I couldn’t wait to play it tonight and planned stopping the music and announcing it over the microphone with “get ready everybody – it’s a belter”. I’m trying to rush home to play the track myself. However, I’m stuck in a conversation, speaking to somebody through an open window of the study of my parent’s house in Bolton. I was in Bath moments ago, plus it’s now daytime and it was evening. Really not looking good for my Bachata track. Damn. Then I’m awake half an hour before the alarm is due to go off. Annoyed. Let’s hope Tim has it in his collection tonight.
