I was in an amazing women artists group when I lived in the Bay - TopicsExpress

I was in an amazing women artists group when I lived in the Bay Area called No Limits. It was started by an artist and activist named Betsy Damon. I knew Betsy had also started an organization called Keepers of the Waters and I got on their mailing list to find out more about the projects Betsy was spearheading all over the world- projects like water parks in China that use her sculpture to clean the water systems (really! “why isn’t this everywhere?!” has become my new mantra), the community action project called “Living Waters” in Pittsburgh and elsewhere that uses rainwater harvesting as the basis for a neighborhood revival, performances and natural enhancement and renewal projects and so much more! I chose to work with Pledge for this fan-funding campaign for a lot of reasons but a big reason is that part of the proceeds raised through their platform goes to benefit an organization of the artists choosing. I chose Keepers and today I met with Betsy for the first time. But certainly not the last! Light bulbs went off, pulses raced and ideas were sparked as we talked about everything from climate change to renewable energy, from our personal spiritual practices to fracking, from the intersection of art, music, love and activism to the quest for quiet. I was and am so inspired by Betsy and the work she has dedicated her life to. I am honored to give a portion of the proceeds raised by YOU to Keepers and I urge you to find out more about what they do and donate more if you can at keepersofthewaters.org. Water is our most precious resource. It is life. It is everything. As Betsy says, “we are as alive as our waters.” I know there will be more to come from knowing Betsy and I can’t thank you enough for being a part of our introduction to one another. From the bottom of my heart, nz
