I was in surgery the weekend of Dottie’s 51st birthday and now a week later I am moving so very slow on Mother’s Day. Of course our children in the states and many children here showed her honor. Tim and Tony looked like 2 giant Egyptian servants (although I could not find loin clothes that size) and they helped me from the house to the stage where I was able to preach and of course I went over an hour. Candy’s drama team performed a drama and that is always a blessing. Dennis and Debbie from Fayetteville came for he week to agin stay in Alex and Sara’s dorm and send them off for a few days as they have done for a number of years. It is such sweet act of God’s love. The most wonderful part of the forgiveness of God is that He forgets. This is something no human being can do–so do not wire me and tell me you have forgiven and forgotten every hurt perpetrated upon you in life. That s a divine attribute. God’s forgiveness forgets!! Love him or hate him Martin Luther King, Jr made a difference in the world that only can be said of a handful of human beings. If you were of my generation you will always remember the phrase ‘Free at last, free at last! Thank God, Almighty, we are free at last”. I will always remember Camelot and what God accomplished through a f hundred men and women. John & Bobby Kennedy, The signing of he Civil Rights Bill by a President who never rived credit , Lyndon B Johnson. There were freedom workers who many times gave their lives. There was an unknown, poo black woman, Rosa Parks, who forever ever changed the scope of civil rights. I am nostalgic enough to possibly sit at this typewriter an kist hundreds of names that I can remember. What about the names of Lee Oswald, Jack Ruby, the Warren commission who said it was only one man acting alone, the unknown man, Kruger, with the only film of that historic day, Sam Giaconni a mafia boss who slept with the same womb as JFK, and perhaps my greets memory of that day when I walked across the campus at Northwestern 7 heard the commotion therefore running to the field house at the exact same moment the TVs were bowing Jackie crawling on the back of that limousine to gather the parts of her husband’d exploded head. I remember that night crying in my bed in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The world has changed! Camelot is dead! Decades later I again ran into a building, this time a Walmart in Gulf Port, Ms, just as the second jet slammed into the World Trade Center. Again the world was changed forever. History has always done that to us us hasn’t it? Thousands of war world wide, plagues, earthquakes and hurricanes, more assignations than the average student of history can remember. Martin Luther King had a dream. Many people in the USA caught a glimpse of that dream. It took decades for even pat of that dream to come true. But tomorrow I want to share something far more important that a man’s dream. You see——–God has a dream also!!
