I was in the magnificent Fort Bliss Exchange picking up the necessary accessories to set up housekeeping for 22 days. I needed an HDMI cable so was looking in the stereo area when I heard a voice I had not thought of in a while. It was a Sony advertisement featuring a new release by Dido the English singer whose release Here with Me was the theme for Roswell. She also did the song Thank You that was big time. So I am staring at a Sony 4K TV watching her doing the this video of the acoustic version of her song Freedom. It has a refrain that goes over and over again No love without freedom, No Freedom without love. I have been dealing with the lyric all day and finally think I know what she is talking about. It is a simple truth about the fact that we are relational beings and without that connection we are incomplete and never truly free. Without it we are always searching. The connection can be a partner, spouse, child, incredibly close friend who has become like family, parent, sibling or our relationship to God him/herself.
