I was indoctrinated by Phil at a tender age. My parents worked all the time and I was left, essentially, alone with the TV. My father felt about Phil as many religious people feel about non religious people except his prejudices were based on political ideologies. So, from an early age I felt patronized and disrespected by my father - not because of religious beliefs but because of my core beliefs which would turn into political beliefs. These points made by Phil in a recent interview illustrate why I object to religion. I feel these things daily from some (not all) people of faith. In order to be truly faithful I believe we should find bigger things to patronize and disrespect people for. ;-) Things like: obscene money in politics, worship of big oil, exploitation of labor and the environment.
