I was initially reluctant to participate in the ice bucket challenge. My kneejerk reaction was that it trivializes a very serious disease and mocks the suffering of those who have ALS... that, and I hate trends. Then I was challenged by this brave man and realized that, in a world of negativity and constant complaining, having fun and sharing the simple joy of doing silly things is never bad, especially if it helps raise money to find a cure. I opted to donate to an organization that is working on the ALS cure without embryonic stem cells, but am not going to wage war here on that issue at this time. My point in posting is to challenge everyone to lighten up a little, enjoy life, give where you can and be grateful for life where you are. Life is heavy enough, those who can lift, lets lift in whichever way we can.

Sometimes, I hear politicians say this has not been done before.
