I was intrigued by this film from the first time I heard about it, - TopicsExpress

I was intrigued by this film from the first time I heard about it, but it just wasnt a strong enough blip on my cinema loving radar to make me want to see it at the theater. Nevertheless, I have been anxious to see this truly visionary and groundbreaking film. You might be asking what makes it such a visionary and groundbreaking film...well, you see, Writer/Director Richard Linklater decided to film this movie in a rather unorthodox manner. The film is about a young boy dealing with the joys and sorrows of growing up...so Linklater decided to actually film it over a twelve year span. Each year he would call the principle actors in for a few weeks of shooting, so that as you see them age and mature it would be completely believable on the screen without resorting to CGI, Prosthetics or different actors. This was an incredibly bold decision that required a tremendous amount of faith on the studios part and a tremendous amount of patience and commitment on the part of Linklater and the young actors he was filming. The resulting film must be pretty amazing as both critics and moviegoers alike rave about this film...and as a result, it is a strong contender for Best Picture at this years Academy Awards. Linklater is an amazing Director and I have enjoyed many of his films over the years(School of Rock, The Newton Boys, Bernie, Bad News Bears and Suburbia to name a few), so Im both curious and anxious to see this film...and determine for myself if it deserves the praise being lavished upon it. We shall see... youtu.be/Y0oX0xiwOv8
