I was issued the ALS ice bucket challenge yesterday. Honestly, my first reaction was something to the point of I will skip the ice and hand over a tidy donation. I mean, we all want to find a cure for ALS and every other horrible disease out there, right? Of course we do. We would do just about anything to help those suffering. ALMOST. The funds this organization collect support embryonic stem cell research. If you are not familiar, this basically consists of fertilzing an egg, letting it grow to an optimum stage and killing the fetus to harvest stem cells and experiment with. While I will continue to pray for a cure for this and for many other diseases, I cannot in good conscience support this organization.
