I was just at one of our local Walmarts and witnessed a wonderful random act of kindness. An older couple in my line could not pay for all their groceries and the woman in front of me paid for everything they had the clerk put aside. Mostly fresh fruit and vegetables, plus eggs and a couple of boxes of cereal. In our area we have a lot of poor people, even our two Walmarts reflect this. We have a rich Walmart and a poor Walmart a few miles apart. The poor Walmart is located in the poorer area. I tend to frequent this one myself because its a couple of miles closer for me and easier traffic plus I like to people watch and I also sometimes feed cats that frequent the parking lot and adjacent fields. Not that it matters but the older couple were neatly dressed and white and the lady who paid was black. After the couple left with the older lady in tears I talked with the Good Samaritan a bit. She told me she was blessed in her career and life and felt it was good to pass on some of these blessings. It was food and cost her little in the long run. It would be nice if more people did random acts of kindness like this so Im going to ask, or rather challenge, those of you reading this do at least one this week. It does not have to cost you money but can be as simple as saying hello to a homeless person or carrying bags for an elderly person. Sometimes little things like this can make that persons day better. So everyone go out and be kind! Do good! Every little bit of light pushes back the darkness a bit more.
