I was just now reading a post about Faith like Abrahams...that always sets my mind to ways of wondering! I learned very early in my christian walk that we who are children of the King are inheritors of the blessings of Abraham. And I learned that through Abrahams faith and obedience he was called a friend of God..So I did lots of praying and studying about Abraham. I saw that the promise of the covenant of Jesus is to all who believe...and I began to wonder...what exactly is to believe? I saw that Abraham was called by God and was told to Leave all that is familiar to you and go to a place that I will show you..He gave him no explanation and drew him no blueprint to follow. Abraham just picked up his wife and his life and went. And this whole life was like that. He had no personal agenda. he trusted God through many trials. Trials with men and with circumstances. He was steadfast and he never turned back. He did some very outrageous things to obey the leadings of the Lord because His trust was rock sold. His whole life was a burnt offering. he never got it back. He was kept by God and prospered in such a way that his needs were met and he had many servants and was able to meet their needs. He was a warrior who took his servants to war with him to go into Sodom and rescue his nephew Lot and his family. As I studied on all of this I saw that I had lots to learn about becoming a friend of God. And I saw that Jesus himself said that some would be his servants and some would be his friends. he said those who are his friends would know what he is doing. I want to know him and know what his kingdom is and what he is doing. I want his kingdom to come and his will to be done. Ive set my face like flint to live my life like a friend of God..
