I was just reading a nice author interview, and I thought: I could never be so lovely and gracious in an interview, always emphasizing how much I care, and its not about me or what I like. I would probably tell the interviewer that Im not sentimental at all, and probably have no right writing romance and someone should take away my computer before I do too much damage. Then a joke about watching my cat take a dump (done to report back to the vet). Then mutter something incoherent. Im just a person, you know? Its not like publishing a book or ten made me any different. I just do my thing, and I hope thats okay, because Im the only one who can do my thing. :-) P.S. Of course I CARE. I care very much, and it makes me happy to make readers happy. But Im not operating under any delusion that the world has a massive shortage of books, LOL, and that Im making some noble sacrifice for the betterment of humanity. Its really cool that its working out that people want to read *my* books, out of the sea of things available, but I definitely try to keep stuff in perspective.
