I was just reading about a dam in Washington State called Condit Dam. This dam stood from 1913 till 2011. Due to pressure by environmentalists the dam was purposely breeched in 2011 to allow for fish to travel up the river or some nonsense like that. I have a few problems with this. One, obviously the fish have made due for the last ninety eight years so what’s the point? Two all those people whither it was their home or business now have lost out because of their former lake front properties are now completely worthless and three…this one’s my favorite! The sediment plum from the dam breech caused a mass fish die off! Yes! That’s right they killed dam near all of the fish that they wanted to help.
