I was just reading the article about the primary school children walking the whole length of Te Oneroa a Tohe and would just like to say what a wonderful achievement. .and good on their teacher Phillip Gibbs for doing..yes those children will remember it all their lives and most of all will have planted in their minds that they are capable of going out and achieving many many things. It would have been tough they did it through shocking weather. ..although I dont know any of them I feel very proud off them.When I was 12 my mother and 3 siblings walked the coastline from Ahipara to the Hokianga(1961) she got all sorts of negative stuff from people when she told them about her plans. .we thoroughly enjoyed it although it was hard..but the memory of that has stayed with me all my life and I look back and see it as a highlight of my life.
