I was just remembering something from last week that put a smile on my face then and still does now. I was hanging out at Travis Park reading a book, when a squirrel curiously approaches me in an almost begging manner, occasionally stopping and standing on its hind legs while putting its front paws together. I was eating Skittles, certainly not what youd feed a squirrel, and it kept getting closer until it stopped at my right foot, jumped up on my leg, and fix its gaze on me. I reached over to pet it, and it remained very calm as before and even closed its beady little eyes as I softly and carefully stroked its little head and back. Then when I reached into my pocket for my phone, it jumped off my leg and scurried away. I think this little animal had observed enough human interaction that it grew curious to know what human touch was, and it came to me. I went about the rest of the day thinking, Life is funny.
