I was just standing on Joses roof, smoking a cigarette and looking at the empty lot next to the Korean badminton lot. Its not empty anymore. A homeless woman has moved in and started to amass a growing collection of discriminate objects. I was thinking about human behavior and about what Jose told me about how during occupy the mayor came out on a balcony over looking the crowd of protesters- how they all jeered and shouted at him and he went back inside and didnt come out again. I smiled because I understand why he hid. I understand why all people in towers hide. That fear of the masses is substantial and valid. I smiled because I know so long as I am a socialist Ill never have to hide in a tower. There may be social upheld, political disorder, or massive economic fluctuations, but I feel like socialism really gives people the opportunity to take personal responsibility and empowers people to democratically, and healthily work through things. Just a thought...
