I was just telling a group of friends how I still ask officers for permission to reach for my license when pulled over...I was beginning to think it was overkill...its sad to think how many times I may have spared my life by asking a question that I wouldnt have to ask if I were 30 shades lighter...I can see the thought of him going for a gun...but why doesnt our training teach officers to err on the side of caution? I told him to get his license. So maybe hes just going for his license...so let me take cover, instead of running from cover. Maybe I do need to draw my weapon just in case, but if he turns around without a weapon I can put it back in the holster... But I guess Im not paid to make that decision. Maybe like OHP says...we just shouldnt get pulled over
