I was just thinking. At first I was thinking about artists and other creative people but then realized that this could apply to anyone. When it comes to artists, writers, musicians, etc. it is important to evolve--continue growing and experimenting with new techniques, styles, and new ideas. This is not about changing with fads. Stay true to who you are and your craft, but evolve and add value to what you already have. Artists who grow and evolve their styles are usually the ones whose work stands out. Your style is your style and the best art is timeless, but what you say in the year 2000 should not be the same thing youre saying in the year 2014. Thats played and gets old. Now while that applies to creative types, I think it also applies to everyone. Evolve. Expand your horizons. Grow.
