I was just thinking…Why are so many Christians impressed with Matthew McConaughey’s statement that he “thanks god” for the opportunities he has been given in the movies and to win an Oscar? Christians ought to stop looking through a peep hole at life. If someone mentions the word “god” too many believers get teary eyed and choked up as though someone has offered praise to the Lord Jesus. It is time to step back and see the whole picture. Certainly the Lord God did not give this dude the opportunity to make all those ungodly immoral movies for which he is given an Oscar. It is like Obama mentioning “god.” No one has a clue which god he is referring to for sure but many are convinced that he isn’t referring to Jesus Christ. You cannot support some of the ungodly stuff these people are doing and supporting and putting a blessing on for the world to see and represent Jesus Christ at the same time. There is a liberal view of religion today that encourages people to speak about believing in “a god” while living an ungodly lifestyle that is condemned through and through by the scriptures and the specific teaching and example of Christ. So, the next time some well-known person says they thank god or believe in god, ask yourself, “What god are they talking about?” McConaughey’s god is most likely Aphrodite! Aphrodite represents all the filth he portrays in his movies. Christ would condemn it all! Christians also need to remember that a lot of people talking about a god know nothing about the scriptures and do not have any personal relationship with Christ. To believe in the name of Christ is to believe in and stand for all that represents his name. We need to wise up and stop being impressed but people who throw around religious terms as though they are kneeling at the feet of Jesus. If the lifestyle doesn’t match the words, then the words are disgraceful and misleading to the innocent and ignorant. Satan uses some people to put a blessing on his deceptive movements to make people think they have salvation when they only have and condone condemnation. In reality for this Oscar winner to thank his god could be used by Satan to mean, “Follow me and go to hell.”
