I was just thinking about how cruel most physical education teachers are in school. They force the over weight kids to embarrass themselves everyday. I remember dreading going to school for that one reason every morning. It literally felt like they enjoyed making the bigger kids look stupid. There was multiple times when I would refuse to do an activity to refrain from being made fun of by my classmates. Which resulted in me always having a low grade in gym. Im sorry, but to force an over weight child to get on a little tiny scooter or run relay races is just wrong. Knowing that theyre gunna slow down their team and what not. It should be a choice to do stuff like that, in my opinion. And if the child chooses not to they could do something else to make up for it. Something they are comfortable doing. Coming from a person that was always called out by teachers for not doing an exercise properly or whatever...its very mean to shoot down a childs self esteem like that. Seriously. Just thinking back to all those times, I honestly feel like the teachers got some kind of sick satisfaction and excitement out of that shit. With that being said, someday, if i have a child that does not want to participate in gym activities, ill be damned if the teacher is going to force them into it.
