I was just watching a AA/NA video the other day, trying to gain better understanding of addiction and the 12 step program that everyone uses, and I was absolutely shocked! In this video, this person taught that only religious (bad) people named their God. That is, they are pharisaical religious. But spiritual (good) people draw help from their higher power. And that higher power could be anything or any character trait that was good that you didnt have within yourself, but desired to have. So then this person proceeded to teach them how to practice obtaining it. I was blown away by such blasphemous statements! But then, she went on to teach Biblical principles, even using scripture word for word as if it were her own words without making reference to the Bible, the God of the Bible or The Savior. Nor did she mention the fact that these qualities are only obtained through life In Jesus by way of the Holy Spirit through regeneration and new birth. In her arrogance she actually thinks she can teach them and impart them to others herself. I say that not only were her statements blasphemous, but she was also committing cosmic plagiarism, as well! So I asked a person very close to me that is an addict if this was commonplace teaching, since he is required to go to these meetings everyday all over the south east. And he said it is true. To call yourself a Christian or make reference to Jesus is frowned upon. He, himself is not a Christian and is being systematically brainwashed along with thousands and thousands of others to despise the use of Jesus Name or any reference to it and that if you do, you arent spiritual. And these people, addicts, need Him most desperately. No wonder the recidivism rate is so high among addicts. The help they need is denied them. Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.
