Her heavy boots didnt break a step in her stride across Sunset Boulevard, but a single glittering glare from her was enough to send the drivers hands up in apologetic supplication. His bad. She resisted a curl of a smile and looked at her knuckles again. The blood wasnt hers. Of course. But it made for good lipstick. This time she did smile, and from her pocket she pulled a small ball of fire. Bouncing it from hand to hand, she watched the full moon rise in Cancer and paid no attention to the frightened figures of those who knew her as they drew, trembling, back into the shadows, and let her pass...
