I was like a proud mama today as my YAA scholars brought an extra change of professional clothes for their Mock Interviews after school. They were adamant about being on time and walked into each interview with their heads held high, firm handshake and a smile that said, I am confident and worth being heard. After each interview, I held my breath until they said It went well Ms. Taylor! I hugged each one and told them Ive never been more proud, and I truly meant it. I love my babies...correction, my young scholars. They are worth long hours, tears and walking into the unknown. Because of their triumphs, I too become a better person. They inspire me to fight harder so that I can provide resources and opportunities they may not otherwise have...thank you god for giving me the willpower and opportunity to do this work.
