I was listening to the Rick Rydell show on KXLY News yesterday and I heard my opponent, Amy Biviano, allege that I had attempted to move the entire Spokane County Investment Pool into Gold and if I had gotten away with it I would have lost millions of dollars. I have corrected Amy on this accusation many times at small public forums. Even if I wanted to do such a thing there is no State Law that would allow me to do so. By State Law we have a narrow list of options we can invest in, mostly Federal, State, or Municipal Bonds. I am not a CPA like Amy, but I do know that CPAs have a Code of Ethics which emphasize honesty and integrity. For Amy to persist in repeating a blatant misrepresentation is not conducive to being a good CPA or Treasurer. If Amy has proof I attempted such a thing she should furnish it or drop her accusation.
