I was listening to this song today in the car....I get pulled toward Eva Cassidy when Im approaching a difficult anniversary or birthday, for a lot of reasons, I suppose, but mostly because the songs she sings make me think of my children, and Heaven, and how its not over when we die. Sometimes she puts her own twist on the words, and in this song, at one point she sings Im going back, oh, to see my mother, and today, at the exact moment that she sang those lyrics, as Im speeding down the road, two beautiful butterflies danced right in front of my car, and I yelled out Hi babies!. Its these LITTLE synchronicities that I pay attention to. Im not one of those people that begs J&J to show me a sign every day. I just sit back and watch it happen. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. And the more I recognize it and acknowledge it, the more they present themselves. Listen to this song. Listen to ALL of Eva Cassidys covers. She is unbelievably soulful. She died in 1996, of cancer. Her version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow makes me cry EVERY single time I listen to it. Here are the lyrics to this song: Im just a poor wayfaring stranger Im traveling through this world of woe Yet theres no sickness, toil nor danger In that bright land to which I go Im going there to see my father Im going there no more to roam Im just a-going over Jordan Im just a-going over home I know dark clouds will gather round me I know my way is rough and steep Yet beautiful fields lie just before me Where Gods redeemed and angels keep Im going there to see my father He said hed meet me when I come Im only going over Jordan Im only going over home I want to wear a crown of glory When I get home to that good land I want to shout salvations story In concert with the blood-washed band Im going there to meet my Saviour To sing his praise forever more Im just a-going over Jordan Im just a-going over home
