I was looking for something else and found this, oddly appropriate for birthdays. I loved reading to my children, now they clamor to read to me at times, charmingly. I loved reading C.S. Lewis, and J.K. Rowling to them. I read 2 HP books cover to cover when they came out during Vineyard vacations and Karl was old enough to want to be included and too young to read, and I always loved going to Narnia and reading my way there. Dreams keep us alive, and fairy tales soften the rough edges and lead us to our imagination. “My dear Lucy, I wrote this story for you, but when I began it I had not realised that girls grow quicker than books. As a result you are already too old for fairy tales, and by the time it is printed and bound you will be older still. But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.
