I was lost, hopeless, helpless and looking for refuge, and in you oh Lord I found a comforter. In you I found a lifter of my head. You did not leave me desolate for you reached out to me and brought me out from the grave; you spared me from going down into the pit. Surely there would not have been any gain in my destruction, or in me going down the pit, for the dust would not have praised your faithfulness. Look at me today, Lord, saying it from the mountain top that I cried to you in my time of trouble and you saved me from my distress, and sent forth your word and healed me. You gave me strength in my weakness. You favored me and made my mountain stand firm.
