I was luck today to be in the Court chamber for the trial hearing - TopicsExpress

I was luck today to be in the Court chamber for the trial hearing of the 4- SPLM Political detainees as from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, until when the case was adjourned to the 19th of March 2014 at 10:00 am. The Presiding Judge questioned the procedures in which the 7- Political detainees were released, saying that, there are no legal documentations, or any legitimate agreement attached to the files presented by the Investigator or seen by the court btw the Government of Kenya and the Government of South Sudan. He also highlighted that, it is only through a court of law where a bail-out can be granted. Therefore, the Judge asked the Government Prosecutor General Moulana James Mayen to ensure that, the already released 7- detainees are summon and must be availed/brought to the court on the 19th of March 2014 at 10:00 am. However, the entire hearing went well today as both side were fully allowed to made the cross-examinations and re-examinations to the Investigator. The court was also able to ask the Investigator to give more elaborations on some basics unclear issues. It was great pleasure to be there in person. Let all hope that, this is going to be the beginning of the new road-map for true Justice in our beloved young Republic of South Sudan.
