I was lucky enough to have recorded with 8 of the oldest Cigar Box - TopicsExpress

I was lucky enough to have recorded with 8 of the oldest Cigar Box Instruments in the world from Bill Jehles International Cigar Box Guitar Museum for the second disc of the Smoke & Mirrors double album. It was an amazing experience to breath life back into these musical artifacts. Several months later, Nikki and I filmed our DVD Series on the amazing stage at Burrow Center for the Fine and Performing Arts in Hanceville, AL. While we were there, we noticed that they had a beautiful museum space. We inquired about its availability, and found out that they had an opening this Winter for a new exhibit. Hmmmm..... Since their music department has been so supportive of DIY music culture, and since Bill Jehle was only a few miles away and looking for an exhibition hall for his museum of CBGs, we decided the situation was too perfect to pass up. We introduced Bill the the head of the Music Dept, and the rest is history! Now you can see Bill Jehles amazing collection of Cigar Box Instruments in person, including all of the instruments used for the recording of the Mirrors album... and see how these instruments have developed over the past century and a half. The Exhibit will open on Nov. 4th, and if you love DIY Instruments, and want to time-travel back to when it all began, make sure you make the trip! I know I cant wait to see those instruments again >8D
