I was lucky to grow up in a household with a cool older brother and cousin, who collectively had a cool record collection, and way cool guitars. One of the records they had in their collection was Over, Under, Sideways, Down by The Yardbirds, released on Epic Records in 1966. I flipped it over one afternoon after school, and there was Jeffs Boogie, an amazing guitar workout by guitarist Jeff Beck. Jeff was channeling Les Paul on this track, some of the licks still baffle me today. I found a clean copy a few weeks back, just now getting around to playing it. Sure brings back a lot of great memories of setting up stairs on Dresden Avenue in Louisville, with one of their guitars in hand, trying hard to figure this stuff out. Fast forward to 2014, Im still trying!! Things like this song never lose their cool.
