I was lucky to have spent my younger years first to 6th grade being raised on the East side . The friends I grew up with, Marie and Terry Nickollete, Kathy and Patsy Wilson and so many others from Garfield Blvd. School at Longfellow then the Naval Academy..being called off school cause of too much snow then running home to get my Ice skates and go skating with my friends till dark and on the way home making snow angels. It was an Idealic childhood. Home at 6pm every night for dinner with Mom and Dad. No take out then Mom cooked a full meal every night. My Mom and Dad got dressed up, Mom in cocktail dresses and Dad in a suit for dancing at the Moose Hall on Broadway with their friends every Sat. Night. My brother and I were allowed to stay up late with chips and dip and soda watching Lawrence Welk and Gunsmoke. After school during the week I would race home to watch American Bandstand like all my friends did and Spin and Marty. Moved to the West Side of Lorain where I met some of the best friends of my life, Marian Doris and Connie.I Remember skipping school at AKHS to go to Daniel Field to see John F. Kennedy sitting on the back of a convertible waving to the crowds...he was so handsome ... Ill never forget that moment..... Dont know what got into me but this is to the Eastsiders !. I enjoy hearing all your stories... more please.. Should I send this or delete?... Here goes for anyone with similar memories from that time... I wouldnt have changed one minute of the above.. Its 11:30 pm and I just took a walk down memory lane.... Love, Sandy XXXXX
